The X5 has a 515 and a maximum tip size of.015

The X5 has a 515 and a maximum tip size of.015 Graco Magnum x5 vs Project Painter Plus The max spray tip is essential. My Graco X7 Magnum Pro has a maximum tip size of.017. This is located in the last two numbers of the tip's number. A tip marked 517, for example, indicates that the spray tip orifice is.017. The "5" represents one-half the width of the spray fan pattern. So the 517 tip would spray a 10 inch wide (5 x 2) design with a paint that requires a.017 orifice, which is a pretty thick paint. The paint specs include the orifice size requirement. This machine comes with a 515 tip, and I couldn't locate the maximum tip size, but I believe this is it —.015 — which is a large aperture and can handle practically any latex or oil-based paints, though I wouldn't use oil-based paint in a sprayer due to clean up. It's much easier to clean with water than mineral spirits. I'm now painting my deck with Sherwin-Williams Super Deck, which is thicker than regular paint, with a.015 spray tip. To reduce overspray and save paint, I'm using a 315 on the railings. The 315 will produce a 6" spray pattern, while the.015 is within the manufacturer's specifications for this product. I could have used a.017, but it would have poured out a lot more paint and made controlling overspray and conserving paint more challenging. I hope this was helpful. This is a wonderful sprayer at a great price, but make sure you follow the instructions, clean it correctly, and store it with pump armour.

The X5 has a 515 and a maximum tip size of.015" (i.e. 215, 315, 415, 615). It is not recommended that you use a tip size larger than.015 because the HP and Amps are insufficient for proper flow rate and application – putting a larger tip size does not ensure proper application, and MOST off-the-shelf latex paint will go through a.015 tip, with the pressure adjusted accordingly.

I've been a painter for over 20 years and have used a variety of sprayers. Any paint atomized to spray will float 200 feet and stick on a car even in little breeze. Purchase.01 mil plastic and cover any cars within 200 feet of any breeze. If the wind is blowing towards your back yard, paint quickly before it changes direction. Typically, spray settles within a 10 to 20 ft radius of an outside wall, with the greatest paint concentrated in a 3 ft radius below the wall. Plastic is less expensive than painting someone else's lovely automobile!!!

Perfect for difficult-to-reach areas, you can carry a paint hose of up to 50 feet in length to reach higher ground or second stories without sacrificing performance.  Spraying unthinned paint at high pressure is possible with a stainless steel piston pump.  RECOMMENDED USE: The recommended amount of annual use is up to 50 gallons.  DIRECTLY FROM THE PAINT BUCKET SPRAY: Thanks to a flexible suction hose, you can spray directly from a 1 or 5-gallon paint bucket.
