Arris SB8200 vs SBG8300 The SB8200 should work, but what kind of modem should I bring? DOCSIS 3.1 works with all of our different speeds. 32 Channels Going Downstream Offers the best speed, performance, and stability. The Motorola MB8600 DOCSIS 3.1 has trouble connecting to the Astound Broadband network at the moment. Also, cable modems that use the EURODOCSIS standard are not supported in the United States.  Yes, as this is a gateway with an integrated modem and router, you can use both a PC and a wireless router at once.  The website of Suddenlink does not identify this gadget as being compatible with its service. Call them to confirm the compatibility if you can.

I'm connecting with a Ubiquiti Edgerouter 4 using LACP (802.3ad) instead of etherchannel. So far, it seems to be working. I've gotten an IP address on the LACP interface, and pings work even when I randomly unplug one of the two cables. I haven't been able to test it in real life yet, but it seems to work. I get an error message on the console, but I think it's because this device has an old kernel build and I haven't been able to update its firmware yet. I'll update this answer at some point.  32 upstream times 8 downstream DOCSIS 3.0 bonded channels, two down and two up OFDM DOCSIS 3 1 channels The best cable modem for internet speeds up to 2 Gbps is DOCSIS 3-1. If your router isn't gigabit, it will probably still work, but only up to the speed of the slowest network adapter in the router. Putting the router's speed in the model name is a marketing move. Since "ac" stands for "5th generation," you will probably have both 2.4 gigahertz and 5 gigahertz bands. If you're buying this modem to get docsis 3.1 gigabit speed from your provider, we recommend a better WiFi router to push the speed to your wireless devices.
